Celebrate National Independent Bookstore Day with your favorite floor to ceiling to basement bookstore in town, Hyde Bros Books, and original poetry by nine local artists! Enjoy a night of staying local and supporting community businesses and friends that professionally use words to inspire all of us.
6pm to 7pm Poet Meet and Greet @Hyde Bros Books: Literary Lovers of all poetry styles are welcome to start their evening with a chance to chat with the local writers, meander the bookshelves, and pet the very relaxed cats amid the aisles stacked with stories.
7:30pm to 9:30pm Poetry on the Patio @Hop River Brewing Company: Head over to Hop River to enjoy a pint or two of your favorite brew on the patio next to the fire pits and under the stars, while hearing original poetry samples from nine different local poets.
These local artists provide a mix of styles and genres within the world of poetry. Each writer brings words to live in varying forms and each will deep into diverse themes. Stay tuned as we reveal details about each poet.

“Independent bookstores are not just stores, they’re community centers and local anchors run by passionate readers. They are entire universes of ideas that contain the possibility of real serendipity. They are lively performance spaces and quiet places where aimless perusal is a day well spent.”
Craft breweries and independent bookstores have so much in common. We love being neighbors on the Wells St. Corridor and love that we can support each other.
